Overview

"BB30 Sucks" "Threaded BBs Only" "Pressfit BBs are a scam" "Creaky30"-- Every Pinkbike commenter.

Well, you know what "All-wise" pinkbike commenter, I don't care. I like Pressfit Bottom Brackets, and I don't care who knows it.
- 1 They are the lightest option
- 2 They are just as easy to replace
- 3 Race Face Bearing are solid and lasted some very muddy races
- 4 I have never heard my Race Face BB creak
- 5 Proven stiffness
- 6 Offer great compatibility for many different brands, I am looking at you "Dub.."

When I bought my bike, 2019 Canyon Lux, it came with a much heavier Sram NX crank with a Dub bottom bracket. But since I already had in my parts pin a super light Cannondale SiSL2 crank; this is a sub 400g crankset, and super stiff (after many a failed pedal insert, I won't be using carbon cranks again.) But there was a problem, since Cannondale uses BB30 spindles on their cranks, I had to switch bottom brackets. After doing a couple minutes of research I found this Race Face BB92 Bottom Bracket for 30mm spindles. It was the perfect solution for what I needed. I had to use a Race Face specific spindle; this is because Cannondale does not make a 143 spindle, which was the width I needed for my bike. Fortunately, Cannondale and Race Face both utilize the same spindle-crank interface, so with my Race Face Press Fit Bottom Bracket, and Race Face 143 Spindle, I was ready to mount my hollowgram crank arms to my bike!!

RaceFace CINCH BB Rider Review

The bottom bracket is essentially 2 bearings encased in a metal sleeve, with a plastic sleeve and spacer between the bearings to prevent mud and grit getting on the spindle and into the bearings.

It is a simple design that works incredibly well.

I have had two extremely muddy races while using this bottom bracket, both where so bad that large portion of the field quit racing and didn't want to damage their bikes. I finished both races, and after getting home, and taking off the crank and cleaning the spindle the bearings seem to be rolling smooth and didn't take much damage.

I have been using this bottom bracket for over 1 year and will probably replace next year, but for the amount of use and abuse these bearings have had, they are in really great and quiet (no creaks, squeaks, or leaks) condition.

Final Thoughts

If you are looking to replace your pressfit bottom bracket, the RaceFace CINCH Bottom Bracket is a great option, and one that can potentially work with many cranks besides a RaceFace crank.
