We talk a lot about the perceived "innovation plateau" in the mountain biking world, and while that may be true for our mountain bikes, there has been an insane amount of innovation in the eMTB world. These bikes have come a long way in terms of aesthetics, geometry, suspension design, motor and battery technology, integration... the list goes on and on. With all that said, ebikes nowadays are seriously impressive and quite fun to ride - here are our favorite eMTBs that we've ridden this year.
Category: Lightweight trail eMTB with mid-power assist

Must Know
Balanced, agile geometry oriented toward trail performance
Starting this list off with the lighter bikes and going up the ladder in terms of power and weight, we begin with one of my personal favorites - the Yeti MTe. This bike has a lightweight battery and motor package in the TQ HPR60 & 580wh battery which allows this bike to tip the scales at around 44lbs. The motor has an incredibly natural, quiet power delivery and happens to be extremely efficient as well - we have yet to fully test the range on this bike but it certainly impresses us every time we take it out. What is also impressive is how this bike has nearly 50% more battery than the Revel Rerun but has no more weight when you put it on the scale. That really speaks to the carbon engineering of this bike since the TQ motor is only around 100g lighter than the Bosch SX. If you're just fixin to get out on some hot laps on some mellower trails and want an even lighter bike, Yeti offers this bike in an ultra light build with a 290wh battery which brings the weight to under 39 lbs.
Aside from that classic Yeti quality and top notch fit and finish, what we truly love about this bike is the way it handles. The SixFinity suspension platform absolutely shines on this bike. Being roughly 8 pounds lighter than the LTe, you can really ride this bike like a trail bike with a little bit of extra weight down low in the perfect spot. That weight adds grip and with that, cornering and descending confidence. It absolutely rips and we always end our rides with a sheepish grin adorning our faces. This is the kind of bike that makes you feel like a kid again.

Must Know
First Revel eMTB emphasizing “suspension first, motor second” philosophy.
Lightweight and balanced but with modest battery (range extender recommended for big days).
Revel's first foray into eMTBs has been a great success if I may say so myself. In a similar vein as the MTe, this bike is lively and corners like an absolute animal thanks to its balanced geometry and CBF platform. This thing encourages you to square up corners with such ferocity you will even surprise yourself with your cornering ability. If you are the kind of rider who enjoys a couple of laps on their favorite downhill trail and just want a little help to get to the top, or you want to smash out a couple of laps in the same time it would take to do one on a meat powered machine, this is exactly the bike for you. Slap on that range extender and you can really get into some mischief.
For CBF and enduro bike lovers, Revel has hit the sweet spot with the ReRun. Those who have experienced the CBF magic know all too well the intoxicating powers the revered suspension platform offers, and this bike is no different. The ReRun encourages you to take the spicy line, point it into some chunk, hit your favorite jump line, slap some berms and then some. If you are looking for the fastest bike with the biggest battery and latest technology, you'll want to look elsewhere. This bike isn't that and it isn't trying to be that. It's unapologetically a well sorted enduro bike with an exceptional suspension platform and dialed geometry that happens to have a proven and reliable motor and battery slapped onto it.

Must Know
One of the most powerful lightweight motors available, blending strong torque and agility.
Battery management system and range claims are competitive
When the Amflow hit our shores, it certainly shook up the eMTB game for the rest of the players. All that insane power, torque and technology packed into a svelte 45lb package? This is the merging of SL and full power bikes that the eMTB prophecy foretold. We all knew this day would come, but let's be honest - did we think it would be this soon? We still have brand new full fat 52lb+ ebikes coming out with similar power levels and battery range as this bike that weighs 7-8lbs less. Yes the Amflow is geared more towards trail riding and isn't a full on DH rig with a motor like a lot of other bikes out there, but it's presence in the eMTB field alone is enough to really change the game and challenge the status quo. Now you can have a bike that's light, fast and has a long range... you don't have to just pick one.
We've been riding the Amflow for over a year now and we've collectively put well over a thousand miles on it. It's been absolutely thrashed by plenty of abusive riders and it keeps coming back for more - check out our long term review and torture test for our more in depth look at how the bike has held up. But long story short, for this brand's first entrant into the bike world in general, it's extremely impressive and has really shaken things up for the better.

Must Know
Designed for enduro racing & aggressive riding, with big suspension and high-torque Bosch drive
Mixed wheel option (29″ or MX) and Bosch’s broad support ecosystem
This full fat enduro eMTB from Yeti checks all the boxes that we felt were missed on the 160E which was already one of our favorite eMTBs. Compared with the outgoing 160E, the LTe has that bit of extra power with the new Bosch motor, the cleanly integrated screen displays much more information than was offered from the handlebar mounted display of the Shimano EP8, and the motor doesn't rattle on chunky downhills. This bike has that classic long travel enduro bike feel of point and shoot, and it thrives when you get it up to speed. It's certainly one of the longer bikes in this bunch - the reach on the size Large is 485mm and it's length is noticeable while riding. You notice that in the 1282mm wheelbase as well - that length adds stability when the going gets rough and fast, and it can also feel like a little long in slow, tight corners. The weight and geometry really allow you to plow through anything in front of you and the suspension will take care of the rest.
It's always refreshing to see an updated bike from a brand that actually addresses the shortcomings of the previous model. It would have been much easier for Yeti to rest on their laurels and apply minimal updates to the 160E, but that's not how they roll. They essentially went back to the drawing board and asked "how can we improve this bike in every way possible?" In our eyes, they did just that.
Category: High-pivot full-power eMTB

Must Know
High-pivot layout helps traction and rear wheel path on big hits
Aggressive trail capability
This particular bike has had more hype around its release than any other bike I can remember in recent history, electrified or not. Being the savvy folks they are, Forbidden was ahead of the curve and they were one of the first brands to offer an Avinox motor in their very first eMTB. Combining their legendary high pivot suspension platform with the Avinox motor was the perfect recipe to excite and entice riders everywhere. The Amflow proved what could be done with the Avinox motor, and while it's a fantastic trail eMTB, we all wanted to see what could be done with a more capable frame and suspension platform.
Forbidden has always had exceptional geometry paired with their unique suspension design, enabling their bikes to be wildly balanced and ride incredibly well as a result. I should know, I owned a Druid V2 for a while and spoiler alert: I absolutely loved that bike. It was truly at home on rocky, rooty tracks where you could not only plow through with little regard for your own wellbeing but you could also change direction on a whim. The way the higher stack pairs with the short chainstays allows you to really ride "in the bike" and push formidably into corners. Like we said when we reviewed the Druid V2, these Forbidden bikes punch far above their travel number and the electrified version is no different. The harder you ride this bike, the more it eggs you on and wants to be pushed harder and harder. Confidence boosting is the name of the game. Pair that with the most advanced eMTB motor available in the Avinox and you have an absolute ripper that goes up as fast as it goes down.

Must Know
Extremely long travel enduro/DH capability with a very slack head angle
Modular geometry (adjustable chainstay options) lets you fine-tune handling.
Crestline has been at the forefront of the high end eMTB market since their inception. In fact, you could even say they created a niche segment of their own in an ultra boutique, limited edition bike that always has the latest and greatest tech, leaving big brands in the dust. They are able to do things that those bigger brands can't - create bikes in small batches in order to take advantage of the next updated motor, innovative platform, or latest battery technology.
The RS 181 is just that - the ultimate version of the ultimate eMTB that now utilizes the Avinox motor. We were enamored by the LS160 and S180 and truthfully had no complaints with those bikes... they are some of the best riding bikes you'll ever throw a leg over. One of the coolest features of all is how modular and adjustable these Crestlines are - you can change a number of things to suit your preferred geometry, riding style, and the trails you love to ride. The chainstay length, rear wheel size, rear travel, reach - all of these things are adjustable to your liking. Crestline is bucking the trend of having to buy several different bikes for each different style of riding - we're talking multiple bikes in one frame. The ultimate tinkerer's eMTB indeed.

If you can believe it 2025 is coming to a close. It sounds insane just saying that. But you know what? This is the perfect opportunity to look back over the year at all the amazing bikes and parts and rides that we've got to experience.
00:00:13:07 - 00:00:34:10
Speaker 1
So in particular in 2025, we've seen a lot of pretty cool e-bikes come out. And whether you love them or not, there's been a ton of innovation and these bikes are just so fun to ride. So with that said, in this video we are going to check out our favorite e-bikes of 2025. Stay tuned.
00:00:34:12 - 00:00:42:08
Speaker 1
Joining me on this wonderful journey of our favorite ebikes of 2025 is my main man and fellow e-bike tester, Trevor here.
00:00:42:10 - 00:00:43:01
Speaker 2
Hello, everybody.
00:00:43:07 - 00:00:43:19
Speaker 1
And
00:00:43:19 - 00:00:51:16
Speaker 1
we are going to start from the more lightweight, half power oriented bikes and we're going to go, you know, on this sort of trajectory into the heavier and full power e-bikes, the
00:00:51:16 - 00:00:52:07
Speaker 2
Heavy hitters.
00:00:52:07 - 00:00:58:20
Speaker 1
The heavy hitters. Exactly. So I think we should just go ahead and start out with one of my personal favorites, the Yeti MTe.
00:00:59:02 - 00:01:10:17
Speaker 1
Yeti brought this bike out, a few months ago with the TQ HPR 60 motor with 60Nm of torque and 350 watt peak power. And it's about 43, 44 pounds.
00:01:10:21 - 00:01:14:21
Speaker 2
It’s kind of like a half power e-bike, but they're kind of going onto the other end of the spectrum now.
00:01:15:02 - 00:01:15:17
Speaker 1
Exactly.
00:01:15:22 - 00:01:18:04
Speaker 1
you know, you have other bikes that are kind of like
00:01:18:04 - 00:01:30:18
Speaker 1
Avinox that have, you know, more power. But this one -- at a similar weight, right -- but this one doesn't really focus on that. It focuses more on the platform, right, and then the geometry and suspension platform, the sixfinity suspension platform.
00:01:31:00 - 00:01:35:05
Speaker 1
I mean, when you say it's probably one of the best, you know, suspension platforms for any bike out there.
00:01:35:05 - 00:01:53:15
Speaker 2
Yeah, I think, I think the sixfinity is awesome just because it was designed around the forces that an e-bike actually outputs, as opposed to just a typical analog bike. So, yeah, they do perform well under the circumstances, and it's cool that Yeti put those on a half powered bike to kind of mimic an analog bike as you, as you could say.
00:01:53:15 - 00:01:55:01
Speaker 1
Yeah, I would fully agree.
00:01:55:05 - 00:02:00:04
Speaker 1
Not only does it ride well, just for, you know, being a Yeti, but just for an e-bike in general.
00:02:00:06 - 00:02:10:13
Speaker 1
The platform, it's so supportive, yet playful. And, that bike, I feel like just kind of as a trail ripper, you know, it's not like a it's not trying to be an enduro bike or anything like that.
00:02:10:13 - 00:02:11:22
Speaker 1
It's just it's a trail ripper.
00:02:11:23 - 00:02:17:16
Speaker 2
I think out of all the e-bikes that you've run here, that's probably been your most favorite. I would assume.
00:02:17:18 - 00:02:18:15
Speaker 1
You.
00:02:18:17 - 00:02:21:10
Speaker 2
Had, like, the biggest smile on your face coming back to the shop
00:02:21:14 - 00:02:24:04
Speaker 1
riding that one. That's absolutely right. Yeah, I absolutely love that bike.
00:02:24:04 - 00:02:25:19
Speaker 2
But it feels like a normal bike. It does.
00:02:25:19 - 00:02:34:10
Speaker 1
It feels so much like a normal bike, and the motor has a super natural feeling to it. Like, you know, the the power you're putting in is super equal to the power it's putting out.
00:02:34:14 - 00:02:39:23
Speaker 1
you can't really get lazy on it, but you don't really have to try too hard. So that's a nice balance of kind of everything
00:02:39:23 - 00:02:40:22
Speaker 1
You want on an e-bike. Yeah.
00:02:41:02 - 00:02:47:03
Speaker 1
Which kind of takes us perfectly into our next bike, the Revel Rerun, which is more of an enduro focused e-bike.
00:02:47:03 - 00:02:50:12
Speaker 2
Yeah. So this one has the Bosch performance line SX motor.
00:02:50:16 - 00:02:54:20
Speaker 2
So that one's 60Nm as well, just like the, the MTe.
00:02:54:22 - 00:02:58:13
Speaker 2
400W of peak power with a 400 watt hour battery.
00:02:58:17 - 00:03:02:09
Speaker 2
You can also put a 250Wh extender battery on it.
00:03:02:09 - 00:03:07:10
Speaker 2
The powermore. Nice. So if you want to get a little bit more battery out of this bike, you can you can do that.
00:03:07:11 - 00:03:10:01
Speaker 1
That is a really nice feature because if I'm honest,
00:03:10:01 - 00:03:12:22
Speaker 1
one, you know, qualm I had with this bike was the battery size.
00:03:13:01 - 00:03:18:15
Speaker 1
I want to go take it out for longer rides, but the 400 watt hour battery, like, kind of limits you in that little in a little regard right there?
00:03:18:18 - 00:03:26:17
Speaker 2
Yeah. It's got a decent amount of power. It's got the travel. But you kind of want to be out there for a little bit longer. So the, I think the extender really makes this bike way more
00:03:26:17 - 00:03:27:19
Speaker 1
Usable for sure.
00:03:27:23 - 00:03:42:19
Speaker 1
this bike in particular, I felt like the CBF also is a the way that they tuned it for this bike. Is it really turned into a super capable descender and it is still, you know, playful because it is kind of similar. It's like 44, 45 pounds, right?
00:03:42:21 - 00:03:50:13
Speaker 1
And I feel like we're really shines as, like getting you to the top of your favorite like, gnarly descent, you know, like, lap it out a couple times and then head home.
00:03:50:15 - 00:03:50:21
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00:03:50:21 - 00:04:00:12
Speaker 1
It's not, like, supposed to be an epic, you know, cross-country mission, right? Or, like, massive ride bike. It's just like, get me to the top of my favorite run and down and a couple times.
00:04:00:12 - 00:04:02:08
Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah the after work machine. Exactly.
00:04:02:10 - 00:04:02:14
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00:04:02:14 - 00:04:17:18
Speaker 1
Which brings us to our next bike, the Amflow PL Carbon Pro, which has the infamous Avinox drive unit with 105 up to 120 Newton meters of torque and 1000W of power in boost mode.
00:04:18:00 - 00:04:25:03
Speaker 1
this bike is kind of where, you know, the segments start to blur because it is like 45 pounds, but you have an insane amount of power.
00:04:25:05 - 00:04:41:12
Speaker 2
Yeah the Amflow with the Avinox motor kind of changed the game a little bit when this came out, it was kind of the hottest thing around for a while because yes, it is a lighter weight you like. I think when we first got ours it was around 44, 45 pounds, which is just as light as the half power bikes.
00:04:41:14 - 00:04:41:22
Speaker 2
Right?
00:04:42:01 - 00:04:43:23
Speaker 2
But this thing is like a bat out of hell
00:04:44:01 - 00:04:45:08
Speaker 2
for sure.
00:04:45:10 - 00:04:46:10
Speaker 1
That's a great way of putting it.
00:04:46:10 - 00:04:46:15
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00:04:46:17 - 00:04:48:19
Speaker 2
It has a crazy amount of power, and it's kind of a
00:04:48:19 - 00:04:49:11
Speaker 2
shorter travel
00:04:49:11 - 00:04:51:13
Speaker 1
Yeah. 150 mil of rear 160 front.
00:04:51:13 - 00:05:03:16
Speaker 2
So it's great for our local trails, something not too gnarly, some singletrack, some some rocky stuff, but nothing like you're going you're not going to you're not going to want to take this to the downhill trails. Right. It just might get a little bit overwhelmed.
00:05:03:18 - 00:05:04:10
Speaker 1
Definitely.
00:05:04:12 - 00:05:11:03
Speaker 2
But this is, it's kind of changed the game a little bit because now it's so fun to ride up the hill. It's like a different sport, really.
00:05:11:06 - 00:05:12:10
Speaker 1
It really is. Honestly.
00:05:12:10 - 00:05:13:21
Speaker 2
It's insane. And I think,
00:05:13:21 - 00:05:21:08
Speaker 2
riding it is believing in it because every time anyone's ever ridden the Amflow people are pretty happy about it.
00:05:21:08 - 00:05:28:13
Speaker 1
Yeah. Every single time I've seen somebody go ride this bike, they come back with a ear to ear grin on their face. And what honestly,
00:05:28:14 - 00:05:33:11
Speaker 1
gets overshadowed because there's so much power is how efficient the motor is. Like, if you watch the video,
00:05:33:11 - 00:05:36:20
Speaker 1
that we did a couple months back and we squeezed an insane amount.
00:05:36:20 - 00:05:40:08
Speaker 1
It was like 50 miles in like 6000ft of climbing or something like that.
00:05:40:10 - 00:05:52:02
Speaker 1
that motor is so efficient and it's really cool. You can tune it, right? Like, for instance, if you're riding with somebody on an MTe, you can tune it down to 60Nm of torque or whatever, and you have a comparable riding speed, which is pretty cool.
00:05:52:04 - 00:05:56:04
Speaker 2
Yeah, in my experience, I've ridden it a lot in the blue auto mode,
00:05:56:06 - 00:06:06:04
Speaker 2
which is just a natural feel. You don't really have to go. It doesn't really give you too much power, doesn't give you not enough power. It's just right in the middle kind of what you're putting into it is what you're getting out of it for sure.
00:06:06:05 - 00:06:08:07
Speaker 2
That's been a super pleasant experience.
00:06:08:09 - 00:06:09:01
Speaker 1
Yeah, we've also
00:06:09:01 - 00:06:10:02
Speaker 2
played around a little bit with the
00:06:10:02 - 00:06:11:06
Speaker 2
mixed wheelset on this one.
00:06:11:12 - 00:06:11:19
Speaker 2
So we've,
00:06:11:22 - 00:06:15:20
Speaker 2
tried the standard 29” 29” and then we've also done a mullet wheel set.
00:06:15:22 - 00:06:23:06
Speaker 2
So it's fun to change it up. It's just a little flip chip. And, you can change up how the bike turns, how it carries speed. And what have you.
00:06:23:06 - 00:06:26:00
Speaker 2
So it's, that's cool that you can customize that on this bike.
00:06:26:02 - 00:06:29:02
Speaker 1
Absolutely. Super cool. And also super cool to see the,
00:06:29:02 - 00:06:32:02
Speaker 1
Avinox platform show up in other bikes because,
00:06:32:02 - 00:06:34:14
Speaker 1
the possibilities are just ridiculous with that thing.
00:06:34:16 - 00:06:35:22
Speaker 2
Yeah. If people want
00:06:36:03 - 00:06:38:09
Speaker 2
the Avinox system on a different bike,
00:06:38:12 - 00:06:48:09
Speaker 2
the options are available now. Like we'll talk about a little bit later. We have a couple bikes here now that we've run that are amazing with the Avinox system, but maybe a little higher travel or kind of a different style of
00:06:48:09 - 00:06:58:06
Speaker 1
bike. For sure. And speaking of higher travel and another style of bike, this brings us to the Yeti LTe, another one of our favorite bikes that we have ridden this year.
00:06:58:08 - 00:07:09:04
Speaker 1
160 mil travel. Just absolute bruiser of a bike with the Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 100 Newton meters of torque and 750 watt peak power, and an
00:07:09:07 - 00:07:10:15
Speaker 1
800 watt hour battery.
00:07:10:21 - 00:07:14:04
Speaker 1
you have got to spend a little bit of time on this bike as well, haven't you?
00:07:14:06 - 00:07:18:17
Speaker 2
Yeah, the the new Gen five Bosch system is amazing.
00:07:18:21 - 00:07:31:19
Speaker 2
The first thing I would say combining this with the Yeti platform is how quiet it is for sure. There's zero motor rattle. Yeti's done a really good job of integrating all the cables into the frame so that everything's kind of stuck into place.
00:07:32:00 - 00:07:33:11
Speaker 2
I'm a pretty big advocate of
00:07:33:12 - 00:07:36:15
Speaker 2
a quiet bike as a fast happy bike.
00:07:36:16 - 00:07:37:02
Speaker 1
Agreed.
00:07:37:02 - 00:07:40:14
Speaker 2
And that is the epitome of that for an e-bike, for sure. Pretty hard to come by.
00:07:40:19 - 00:07:41:08
Speaker 1
Absolutely.
00:07:41:10 - 00:07:45:06
Speaker 2
So, yeah, this one's cool. It's, It's crazy how much battery this one has.
00:07:45:06 - 00:07:45:19
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00:07:45:21 - 00:07:54:13
Speaker 2
With the. Yeah, again, the Gen five Bosch 800 watt hours of battery. But you can also put a 250 watt hour extender battery onto it so
00:07:54:13 - 00:07:58:09
Speaker 2
you can get, what, 100, you know. Yeah, 150 or 1050.
00:07:58:11 - 00:08:01:13
Speaker 1
**undiscernable mathematics** You can get 1000 watt hours.
00:08:01:17 - 00:08:03:13
Speaker 2
**more questionable math**
00:08:03:13 - 00:08:03:20
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00:08:04:00 - 00:08:05:10
Speaker 1
That's kind of mental honestly.
00:08:05:10 - 00:08:08:21
Speaker 2
Which is a lot I think. I think I would be pretty over it after a couple
00:08:08:21 - 00:08:11:01
Speaker 1
hours on an e bike. Yeah.
00:08:11:03 - 00:08:26:23
Speaker 2
But it's cool that you have the option to do that. Yeah. On some pretty big missions like that. I remember back in the day when e-bikes were first becoming a thing, and I know guys who would carry a big battery in their backpack, go out, go out into the woods. Yeah. And drain the whole battery put another one in.
00:08:27:05 - 00:08:28:13
Speaker 2
And then just a really heavy.
00:08:28:13 - 00:08:29:05
Speaker 1
That's crazy.
00:08:29:05 - 00:08:32:08
Speaker 2
Way to do it but people were into it. So that's pretty cool.
00:08:32:08 - 00:08:47:19
Speaker 1
Yeah, it's pretty much a dirt bike at that point. So what's cool about this bike I feel like aside from obviously all the things we've already said, but it's almost like the ReRun but you have the the huge capacity of the massive battery. So it's like you can go and ride all the gnarliest trails, but like deep in the backcountry.
00:08:47:22 - 00:08:48:05
Speaker 2
Yeah.
00:08:48:08 - 00:09:04:22
Speaker 2
I think my favorite part again is the sixfinity suspension platform. Yeah. One of my favorite e-bikes prior to this was the Yeti 160e but the the system was a little bit lacking, and now that they've incorporated the Bosch system into this platform, it's incredible. It's definitely one of my favorite e-bikes to
00:09:04:22 - 00:09:16:18
Speaker 1
ride. I fully agree. Yeah. And honestly, that was my qualm with the 160e as well. I feel like this modern Bosch unit in that bike, that's kind of what we were all dreaming of and is a reality in this bike. So yeah, it's pretty awesome.
00:09:16:18 - 00:09:20:03
Speaker 2
It's clean. The, screens integrated into the
00:09:20:05 - 00:09:22:04
Speaker 2
top tube, which is nice. The,
00:09:22:04 - 00:09:27:14
Speaker 2
remote on the handlebars. Wireless. So just little things like that go a long way. I really appreciate that stuff.
00:09:27:16 - 00:09:28:07
Speaker 2
yeah, it's awesome.
00:09:28:07 - 00:09:34:00
Speaker 1
Yeah. Also mixed wheel compatible, something that we haven't really mentioned about the other bikes, but the MTe and the ReRun
00:09:34:00 - 00:09:34:04
Speaker 1
are
00:09:34:04 - 00:09:35:18
Speaker 1
mixed compatible, MX compatible.
00:09:35:18 - 00:09:40:11
Speaker 1
So that's pretty cool. Yeah. It's nice to see like all these by companies offering the option to run it
00:09:40:15 - 00:09:41:19
Speaker 1
you know twenty nine or mixed wheel.
00:09:42:00 - 00:09:43:05
Speaker 2
Yeah it's cool because you know
00:09:43:05 - 00:09:52:08
Speaker 2
some people have trails that would benefit for a full 29 setup. Some people have trails that would benefit from a mullet setup or the riding style caters towards that. So,
00:09:52:11 - 00:09:56:12
Speaker 2
it's good to get the opinion of the rider into the bike setup.
00:09:56:14 - 00:10:20:00
Speaker 1
Well said, well said Trevor. Which brings us to our next favorite bike of the year the Forbidden Druid CorE. Corey? Cor-E. Cor E, CorE CorE which this bike had a ton of hype around it ever since the Avinox motor dropped and they I feel like they were kind of the first one to tease having this motor and this whole system like integrated in their bike with the high pivot platform.
00:10:20:02 - 00:10:22:02
Speaker 2
I, I think this bike is super cool.
00:10:22:06 - 00:10:26:18
Speaker 2
I personally am riding a Forbidden Druid analog bike. Yes, not the e-bike.
00:10:26:20 - 00:10:27:02
Speaker 1
Not the
00:10:27:02 - 00:10:45:18
Speaker 2
E-bike. And I absolutely love it. So I'm super excited to see how they've integrated the high pivot platform into an e-bike. And I've been thinking this from the beginning. From the beginning, this kind of a little bit of drawbacks with the high pivot, like a little bit more noise, maybe a little bit more drag. It's pretty negligible, but it's like, why not put it on an e-bike?
00:10:45:18 - 00:10:55:07
Speaker 2
Perfect and have all the benefits of a growing chainstay super stable platform. And, yeah, strap a motor in it. Yeah. And, forbidden did exactly that.
00:10:55:08 - 00:10:56:12
Speaker 1
They did exactly that.
00:10:56:12 - 00:11:11:20
Speaker 2
That's super cool. I think it looks awesome. And, it's just but it does a really good job of keeping the of like, their whole kit is, very well done. It's a very, very high end bike, for sure. And, it's cool that they have made this bike.
00:11:11:22 - 00:11:15:06
Speaker 1
Agreed. Yeah. 150 mil rear travel, 160 front.
00:11:15:11 - 00:11:15:22
Speaker 1
High pivot,
00:11:15:22 - 00:11:17:08
Speaker 1
trifecta platform.
00:11:17:13 - 00:11:22:01
Speaker 1
With all the tech that the Avinox system, you know, brings with it, which is super cool.
00:11:22:03 - 00:11:31:11
Speaker 1
And just an absolute plow, right? Like the druid, like you've said before. And I’ve had a Druid, too, that I had the same sentiment is the faster you go, like, the harder you push,
00:11:31:11 - 00:11:33:02
Speaker 1
It just keeps on egging you on.
00:11:33:02 - 00:11:39:14
Speaker 2
Yeah, they they punch above their weight class and for 150 rear travel bike like it's going to feel like a big enduro bike.
00:11:39:20 - 00:11:42:21
Speaker 2
But you have obviously the assist to get up the hill. So it's pretty sweet.
00:11:42:22 - 00:11:59:22
Speaker 1
Exactly. So take you to the top of your favorite downhill time after time pretty much. And just absolutely fly doing it. Yeah. Which brings us to our final bike and another Avinox equipped bike, the Crestline RS181.1 Spectre Edition.
00:12:00:01 - 00:12:01:04
Speaker 2
So this is kind of like the final
00:12:01:04 - 00:12:05:14
Speaker 1
Boss of the final boss of ebikes, for sure. Yeah, so
00:12:05:19 - 00:12:12:20
Speaker 2
I’ve been lucky enough to ride every generation of Crestline since they've come out, and, this one is the best one, bar none.
00:12:12:23 - 00:12:13:10
Speaker 1
For sure.
00:12:13:16 - 00:12:26:19
Speaker 2
So it's cool to see that they've speced the Avinox drive unit on the Crestline. Crestline, of course, is a big travel bike. 180-180 you can also make it 160-180 or 160-160, kind of whatever you want
00:12:26:19 - 00:12:33:11
Speaker 2
With the, flip chip at the shock or playing around with different shock strokes, you can kind of change around the geometry of the bike, which is awesome.
00:12:33:13 - 00:12:35:08
Speaker 2
They've kind of thought about a lot of stuff with it.
00:12:35:12 - 00:12:36:03
Speaker 2
You have a
00:12:36:03 - 00:12:37:15
Speaker 2
press-in headset so you can go
00:12:37:15 - 00:12:39:06
Speaker 2
plus 5 or -5, reach
00:12:39:10 - 00:12:43:22
Speaker 2
or put an angle set in there if you want to kind of kind of do whatever you want to. Yeah. Which is pretty sweet.
00:12:43:22 - 00:12:45:12
Speaker 2
adjustable drop outs. Yeah.
00:12:45:12 - 00:12:45:17
Speaker 2
Which
00:12:45:17 - 00:12:49:08
Speaker 2
is cool too. A lot of people are playing around with that, playing with their rear center a lot.
00:12:49:08 - 00:12:59:03
Speaker 2
And then just to have again, the Avinox drive unit in there as well is just you're just putting a beast in the already beast of a bike for sure. So that's pretty sweet.
00:12:59:06 - 00:13:06:22
Speaker 1
We've seen these things built out with dual crown forks, fox podiums, coil everything. Just like pretty much a downhill bike with a motor honestly.
00:13:06:23 - 00:13:10:05
Speaker 2
Yeah. People have been loving it, and, we're stoked to see them out there.
00:13:10:05 - 00:13:27:12
Speaker 1
Yeah. And like you said, you can tailor this bike pretty much to your terrain. Like, that is the coolest thing I feel like about it. Aside from the fact that it's an absolute animal, like you said, adjustable chainstay length, like with the drop outs, like, that is super cool. You almost like, never see that with, like, I said, especially on an ebike, especially on an e-bike.
00:13:27:12 - 00:13:37:17
Speaker 1
This thing really kind of. They thought out, like, all the boxes that you could possibly want and just like, check, check, check. Like, the bike industry hates to see Crestline coming in because they have the one bike that does it all. Well, I
00:13:37:17 - 00:13:42:09
Speaker 2
feel like a lot of companies are catering towards their specific audience, but,
00:13:42:09 - 00:13:45:22
Speaker 2
Crestline is catering towards what people want. Yeah, what the people want.
00:13:46:03 - 00:13:46:06
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00:13:46:07 - 00:13:49:06
Speaker 2
You know, so, I love that philosophy.
00:13:49:08 - 00:13:49:19
Speaker 1
Me too.
00:13:49:19 - 00:14:01:11
Speaker 1
They could just as easily sell two different frames, right? But they just said, hey, you can take this one frame and you can tailor it however you want. Yeah. Which is really cool. And we appreciate that. Thank you. Crestline.
00:14:01:13 - 00:14:08:02
Speaker 1
But real quick, I mean, should we just say what what bike would you take if you were to take any one of these?
00:14:08:04 - 00:14:09:19
Speaker 2
Man, that's a tough question.
00:14:09:19 - 00:14:15:11
Speaker 1
I kind of just, like, laid it on you without any. You know, I like I tell you, I was going to ask you that or anything, but. Yeah.
00:14:15:13 - 00:14:30:17
Speaker 2
I think I'll take the Crestline. I've had some experience racing the Crestline in the past, and I just feel super comfortable on the bike. I think with the Avinox drive unit in it, too. It's just a beast. There's no getting around that. It's insane. You can kind of ride it wherever you want to ride it on however you want to ride it.
00:14:30:17 - 00:14:44:05
Speaker 2
So, and the the customization of it is awesome, too. I'm a big bike tinkerer, so if you can change around some stuff on it, to suit the trail that you're gonna be riding or the zone you're going to be riding, I think that's a huge advantage.
00:14:44:07 - 00:14:44:20
Speaker 1
You're not wrong.
00:14:44:20 - 00:14:45:09
Speaker 2
How about you, Jared?
00:14:45:10 - 00:15:11:18
Speaker 1
You know you're not wrong at all. Because initially I was thinking, like, initially my heart says MTe. Like I started the video off by saying, like, that was my favorite one, but my dad got one. I loved it so much and he loved it so much I told him to buy one and and he did. But, honestly, the you make a great case for the Crestline because it is so tailor able and you can really just make it like if you're going to go rip the bike park, you know, you swap out a couple things, or if you're riding it around here, like in Newbury Park or wherever,
00:15:11:20 - 00:15:13:14
Speaker 1
you know, like make it 29, 29,
00:15:13:14 - 00:15:14:13
Speaker 1
shorten the travel.
00:15:14:14 - 00:15:17:22
Speaker 1
You can really tinker to your heart's content, which is really sweet.
00:15:18:00 - 00:15:32:17
Speaker 2
I am a big fan of the new Gen five Bosch system. Yeah, I do think it's super good. It's, they've done a super good job with that. Compared to the last generation. The prior generation Bosch motor, for sure. I think they've made a lot of very good improvements and I haven't really seen any issues with them, which is awesome.
00:15:32:17 - 00:15:33:06
Speaker 1
Yeah.
00:15:33:08 - 00:15:49:09
Speaker 2
with the Gen five Bosch, I really enjoy how quiet it is. Yeah. There is still, as people know, there is still a little bit of a rattle at the, Avinox system, which is fine. All the bikes do it except for the, for the the Gen five. Bosch. Yeah, it's dead quiet. And I love.
00:15:49:09 - 00:15:53:21
Speaker 1
That. Also, the TQ HPR 60 is dead quiet. Like I hear no rattle.
00:15:53:21 - 00:16:03:00
Speaker 2
So the technology's coming a long way. Yeah, e-bikes have come a long way. They're getting insane. They're super fun to ride. We're I'm super grateful to be able to ride all these amazing bikes.
00:16:03:04 - 00:16:09:19
Speaker 2
yeah, between the two. Yeah. It's hard. It's hard to pick one. I think that the Avinox has a little bit more power. And a little bit more torque.
00:16:09:19 - 00:16:14:01
Speaker 2
Or at least you can feel it when you're riding. But yeah, I do love how quiet the Gen five is.
00:16:14:01 - 00:16:30:15
Speaker 1
Now, what if we could get a Yeti with, with the Avinox motor? The LTe? I don't know, I don't know, like, that would be insane. That would be like, it's like LTe at a 45 pound weight. It would be just, like, insane. The sixfinity with the power like that would be talking about final boss, right?
00:16:30:17 - 00:16:32:18
Speaker 1
Well, gosh, that pretty much just wraps this one up.
00:16:32:18 - 00:16:35:17
Speaker 1
Thank you guys so much for tuning in. We really do appreciate it.
00:16:35:21 - 00:16:39:15
Speaker 1
maybe send this to a friend who is a little e-bike curious, or
00:16:39:15 - 00:16:41:06
Speaker 1
they've got an e-bike on their radar.
00:16:41:08 - 00:16:45:03
Speaker 2
Or, leave some comments, let us know which bike you're riding or which e-bike you want to
00:16:45:03 - 00:16:53:20
Speaker 1
get. Yeah. What e bike do you want to get? What ebike did we forget? What's the next best e-bike that we didn't mention in this video? But yeah, we appreciate it, cheerio guys, thank you.
