Looking for a trail bike that combines precision handling, confidence-inspiring control, and unbeatable versatility? The Yeti SB140 T2 in Sangria might be your dream ride.
Purchasing a Sangria Yeti SB140 T2 from Worldwide Cyclery was one of the best bike-buying experiences I’ve ever had. The team strikes the perfect balance of sarcasm, humor, and professionalism, offering customer service as good as any local bike shop. Despite my bike being a special order, they kept me updated every step of the way, from build updates to shipping details.
While I usually prefer to build my own bikes, the discounts and coupons on this deal were too good to pass up. The bike arrived well-packaged, with plenty of padding and shrink wrap that ensured it survived its journey through FedEx unscathed. The frame was in perfect condition, and I immediately applied a RideWrap to keep it that way.
Nicknamed “Purple Nurple” (or “Grape Ape,” depending on the day), this Sangria-colored Yeti stands out on the trail. While I initially leaned toward Yeti’s classic turquoise, I love the unique look of the Sangria in sunlight.
Switching from my beloved Transition Smuggler with a 150mm Fox 36 fork, the SB140 T2 has exceeded all my expectations. After just four 10-mile rides, I’ve already set new Strava PRs on both climbs and descents.
The SB140’s handling is quick and precise,
with a planted, confidence-inspiring feel through rough terrain. It pops off trail features effortlessly, making jumps and technical sections more fun than ever. At 6'1" and 210 pounds with a longer wingspan, the large frame fits me perfectly. After trimming the bars to 750mm, I feel completely at home on this bike.
The SRAM Code brakes are phenomenal, offering impressive modulation and power. The tool-free reach and contact adjustments are game-changers, allowing me to dial in the perfect feel. I ride with the brakes set up in MX-style, which Worldwide Cyclery handled flawlessly—no leaks or issues post-setup.
The suspension, a Fox 36 fork and Float X shock, feels well-tuned right out of the box using Yeti’s recommended settings. While the rear shock could be slightly better on small bumps, I’ll fine-tune it as I get more miles in.
The 200mm Fox Transfer post has worked smoothly so far, apart from one minor glitch. The longer travel is a huge upgrade from my previous 150mm post, though I occasionally adjust it up an inch or two for comfort—just a personal preference.
The Yeti SB140 T2 is everything I dreamed it would be: agile, confidence-boosting, and incredibly fun to ride. It handles technical sections with ease, charges through rough terrain, and encourages you to ride harder and faster. If you’re on the fence about this bike, let me tell you—believe the hype. It’s a do-it-all trail machine that will take your riding to the next level.
As for Worldwide Cyclery, their customer service is second to none. Whether you’re shopping for bikes or gear, they make spending money feel like a good time. And no, I’m not a dentist.
