Overview

Reader: What’s that joystick you have on your cockpit?

Reviewer: It’s a Wolftooth 360 Dropper Lever. I love it so much! It’s been working amazingly and is so fun to use.

Reader: That shape is interesting. Is it hard?

Reviewer: It’s flexible to place anywhere and easy. I put it just how I like it. Always there at the ready. Stands out a little but it’s not that big so glad you noticed.

Reader: You have any pains after long-term use?

Reviewer: Nope, but sometimes my knee accidentally bumps it when climbing or turning, and I get that sudden surprising shock of the round nose of the saddle quickly pressing up my backside. I have a long post, so it’s scary while I’m riding up and down the bumpy stuff and going down the roughs.

Reader: And what is that thing sticking out at the end? Is that what I think it is?

Reviewer: It’s just the dropper cable that gets inserted through the shaft. The shop thought it would be cool to add an off-colored cable end, and they thought white seemed appropriate. They didn’t cut it enough, so it sticks out pretty far, about half the length of the shaft. It shakes up and down like it’s vibrating. Thank goodness the lever is ribbed though because sometimes the cable end sticks to my thumb on the way up and gets in the way, but even then I can still hit the tip of the lever. Luckily, with the stick being able to swirl in any angle, there is enough movement to activate the post.

Reader: That white-colored cable end makes the setup seem like a gamer’s had too much fun with the joystick. It’s too bad for you they don’t make it in the color bronze.

Reviewer: I don’t mind the looks of it, I just want to hit and pump the mounds moving back and forth to get flow. Gotta also hit the lips and dive deep between the bushes in the secret unknown trails.

Reader: How’s it compared to others?

Reviewer: I’ve had quite a few. The Raceface previous dropper lever had the barrel adjuster break (RF asked me to buy the new lever at 50%) and that had a long lever to give easy actuation, but my thumb still cramped eventually. I have the Wolf Tooth standard lever which works better and smoother and is the best Lover before I got this. I also have the OneUp which is almost as smooth. There are cable bends through frame that vary though. I really wanted to try the light action but I would much rather have this than any other lever I’ve tried on friends' bikes. Brand X, Specialized Body Geometry, PNW (great quality) but lacked lever power and limited lever placement for my strange Strive setup or curve didn’t angle well.

Reader: I need more than words.

Reviewer: Give it a go. You need to experience the movement to really get an idea of the action.

Reader: Oh yeah! I really like the ribs on the shaft and the grip it gives! Your post is pretty long at 210mm (8.26 inches) but that OneUp 9.45 inches (240mm) is huge. I wouldn’t want that coming up the rear. You need to get the cable shortened so it doesn’t look like your lever is uncontrollably excited and keep that white cable end inside the shaft until you’re ready to activate the dropper, and you’ll have a more satisfying worry-free ride. Just don’t get overly happy testing your dropper over and over again. It may look a little strange.

Reviewer: Thumbs up?

Reader: Two thumbs up.

Final Thoughts

The Wolftooth 360 Dropper Lever stands out for its flexibility in placement, ease of use, and overall performance. Despite some minor issues like the protruding cable end, it offers a satisfying riding experience, especially in comparison to other levers. The tactile feedback from the ribbed shaft adds to its appeal, making it a top choice for riders seeking both functionality and enjoyment on the trails.
