Having the right tools to work on your bike is essential if you are looking to do any sort of at home maintenance. Park Tool is the go-to source for all MTB tools these days and in this review, our customer picks up a new Hex Wrench. Read on to hear his thoughts!
I bought the Park Tool PH-2.5 P-Handled 2.5mm Hex Wrench on July 19th and have been using it these last few months. Most recently I used it to adjust and work on my Scott Spark Fox32 remote lockout system. I am loving the park tool hex pieces as they are of great quality. I find that when I use other off-brand hex tools/Allen wrenches that they often strip or the fitment is not exact to sizing specifications. I have tried quite a few and it is stressful when a crappy tool ends up leaving your parts stripped due to a faulty piece.
I have used this several other Park Tools from Worldwide Cyclery and have found all of them to be great quality and I have not had an issue with them. I will highly recommend to anyone considering. Pay the extra few bucks for the right tool for the job.
I will attach a photo here below of my Park Tool PH-2.5 P-Handled 2.5mm Hex Wrench and the part of my bike shocks/ front forks that I was working on. You can see that the tool actually has two sides. A longer side to extend into harder to reach sections, and another shorter side that is protruding from the handle itself.
It's not uncommon that I have found mountain lions and bobcats on local California trails so it's the perfect weapon to protect yourself if you are being chased by one of these wild beasts in their natural habitat. Not to attack them, just to protect yourself if they were to pounce on you. Once I hollered hear kitty kitty, and the bobcat abruptly yelled at me because it was mad that It thought I assumed its gender. It's hard to say because I myself don't really speak bobcat. I have learned several other languages, but Bobcat is not one of them. Perhaps there will be a day I can go to Bobcat school so that I can understand what all it was saying to me out on that trail.
I am thinking that in the future I will get a couple of these tools, one to hold in each hand if I am ever chased by a Bobcat again. I would like to iterate that I do not condone violence against animals in general. Just with all things considered in times of this COVID-19 Pandemic it is probably important to have tools that keep the animals from getting to close to us so that we don't contract a virus of any sort.
I would like to conclude this incredible review of the Park Tool PH-2.5 P-Handled 2.5mm Hex Wrench by reminding people to check the spec of the hex bolts that they have and make sure you are ordering the right size for the exact job you are looking to perform. I will be eagerly awaiting Worldwide Cyclery to provide some belt holsters for these bad boys. Happy riding and stay safe out there y'all!
