The number of grips on the market today is simply crazy. Tons of brands, tons of types, styles, colors, compounds, colors... it never ends! We took the time to line up our top 5 favorites. These grips are a combination of what we like and what our customers like and really what is popular and what riders are loving right now.
There is no perfect grip. There are just different grips and different hands. As with most things in the bike world, personal preference is everything so get out there and grip some grips and see what you like!
Based on the popular GA2 grip, the GA3 is an extension of the GA series. Taking comfort to the next level, the Ergon GA3 sports a small “wing” to support the wrist. If you ever have pain in the wrist, your hands go numb, or you just prefer the support, the GA3 is a great option. Whether you are taking on some five-hour rides or just enjoying the weekend on the bike, the GA3 provides the comfort needed to get the job done.
A new addition to the classic ODI grip line is the Elite Pro Lock On. Similar to the classic ODI Ruffian grip, the Elite Pro adds some comfort and waffle pattern to key parts of the grip to add riding performance. On top, you will find some ergonomic padding that is raised and shaped like the inside of your palm. This provides a comfortable place for your hands to sit on the roughest downhills. On the bottom and towards the front, you will find a waffle pattern to provide the grip needed to keep the fingers in place. A single clamp design creates more grip space, and at the end of the grip, you will find a tapered and smooth rubber end to keep the edge of the hand on the grip. While all of these grips are our favorite grips, this one finds itself on my personal bike often. It gives the perfect balance between padded comfort and a thin grip feel, great with or without gloves.
