Employee Spotlight: Michael Bartovsky - Dad Bod Pug Master

Michael takes his role of shop Dad very seriously. From his countless one-liners to rocking the dad-bod, and of course, being an actual Dad. We are not sure what Michael loves more, his sweet Pug Lucy or drinking a sweet craft beer. From killing it as our marketing manager to having an extensive Vans collection, we can all say we look up to Michael.

What is your favorite part about working at Worldwide Cyclery: Working with a bunch of rad people who are motivated to make Worldwide Cyclery the best damn bike shop in the world.

If you could ride any bike in our Worldwide showroom, it would be: My Revel Rascal tickles my fancy right now.

Favorite place to ride a bike: Whistler or bust.

Favorite non MTB activity: Photography. Camping. Grilling meat. Dodger games.

What is the craziest thing you've ever done: I was on a bushwalk in Australia and stared down an emu face to face and didn't even flinch.

Drink of choice: Madewest Hazy IPA is my go-to.

You can usually catch me listening to: August Burns Red, Weezer, and the Moana and Frozen soundtracks.

Favorite line from a movie: "Get busy living or get busy dying” - The Shawshank Redemption.

Typical weekend activities include: Spending time with my wife, daughter, and pug :) Enjoying a nice beer. Hiking local trails. I actually have a pretty nice little Saturday planned - gonna go to Home Depot, maybe Bed Bath and Beyond, I don’t know if we’ll have enough time...

Boxers or Briefs: Boxers when I sleep, boxer briefs for all other activities

Beer or Liquor: Beeeeeeeeeeer

Pee sitting down or standing up: I take advantage of any opportunity I get to aim a stream of urine into a porcelain unit...so standing.

Pineapple on Pizza; yes or no: People who put pineapple on their pizza are a different breed...it's unacceptable in my book.

Boobs or Butts: I've been going back and forth since the age of 12. Today, butt guy.

Cereal or Milk in the bowl fist? The people who put milk in their bowl first are the same people that put pineapple on their pizza.

You can eat one meal for the rest of your life, what is it: Chicken Parmesan and garlic bread. Gotta get those carbs.

If you could hang out with one person for a day (who doesn't have to be alive) who would it be and why: Clayton Kershaw because he is one of the most determined athletes in all of sports. His intensity, drive to win, and focus is unlike anyone else. I think I could learn a lot from his approach to the game and apply it to my own life. And also Michael Bolton..

Name 3 things on your bucket list: Go on an African safari. Watch a baseball game in every major league stadium. Photograph the Northern Lights in Iceland...naked.
