Sometimes the deals are so good you just can't limit yourself to one item. That seemed to be the case with our customer Mike who picked up a collection of new product. With a new set of Ergon GA2 grips, Race Face Aeffect Crankset, and Bell Super DH helmet, he is ready for just about anything. Check out this review to learn more!
This was my first purchase from Worldwide Cyclery, and I have to say I was very happy with every part of the transaction. To start, I needed to replace a bent crank. If anyone knows, when you are off your bike it sucks when the shipment goes slow. Not only did they get it out and shipped to me quickly, but I also decided to change from a 175 to a 170mm crank arm. Luckily they had a phone number that made that change quick and easy.
All the products I ordered were exactly as I wanted.
The Ergon grips were a great product for the money. They are a bit more padded than my previous grips, and I like the dampening they provide on the chunky descents. Grips are all about personal preference, but for me, I liked the change of not overly squishy, but with some extra rubber on the bars.
Race Face Aeffect Cinch Crank Arm Set: 170mm. I really like the difference even the 5mm shorter added to my pedaling. It might be part placebo, I don't know, but I've noticed on the technical climbs a pedal stroke. They came in nice packaging and with easy to follow directions on the install. Definitely, like these cranks, and for the price you can't beat it.
My favorite of the purchases was the Bell Super DH. This thing is awesome. I had the Super 3r previously and wasn't crazy about the fit and protection of that helmet. This helmet is totally redesigned and fits super comfy! The MIPS system is also super cool, not just a plastic casing, but with rubber dampening system that shifts, unlike other helmets. Maybe the closest comparison would be the 6D system. It's a great helmet to have for a day at the bike park but also as a half shell for the pedal up, just put the chin guard on when it's time to point down. Being in Arizona, I think my favorite part of this helmet is the sweat channel, where the sweat in the padding is moved to a square section that hangs in front of your face and the sweat drips away and not into your eyes. I thought reading about it that it may be marketing, but it actually works really great. One last thing, the venting is really great, so there is less sweat to begin with. With the DH rating, I can't think of a better helmet out there on the market.
