We are back with another episode of Trending MTB Products. We like to think that this time of isolation is perfect for dialing in your bike and getting it ready to shred once we are allowed back out on some group rides with our friends. This time we go over some simple items like Fox Shox's High-Pressure Shock Pump and Float Rebuild Kits, as well as some shiny new Oil-Slick GE1 Evo Grips from Ergon. Easy and affordable upgrades and tools to keep your bike running smoothly! We are also doing a little spring cleaning and selling off our Demo bikes and a few employee bikes for a killer price.
Oh! We also dropped and a new piece of WC merch and show you our new All Things MTB Hoodie to help you rep your favorite bike shop : ) Tires will forever be the backbone of a riders experience on the trails and that is why we decided to go over the Maxxis Dissector Tire once again. Designed in collaboration with Mr. Consistent himself, Troy Brosnan, the Dissector quickly became what we would call the most popular tire of 2019 as we could barely keep any in stock after release. Click play and learn why you might need these upgrades while you are stuck at home running out of Netflix series to watch...
Shock Pumps, a simple yet necessary tool for all riders! This Fox Factory High-Pressure shock pump is quite affordable at just $19.99. I like to keep these all over the place. Typically you don't need them for yourself if you are good about bringing one, but nobody wants a friend at the start of the ride going, “Oooohh, I forgot to check my fork pressure and it's low. Anyone have a shock pump?” That's the worst, and it's why I always have a shock pump in my toolbox, my gear bag, my van, and maybe an extra one lying around as well. This Fox shock pump has a high pressure 300psi analog gauge and will assist you in making sure your shock or fork pressure is just where you need it before each ride. We like this shock pump so much that we made a video on it!
The Maxxis Dissector tire has been a huge hit since its release and has been very hard to keep in stock recently. With design input from DH World Cup winner Troy Brosnan, the Dissector tire was designed to be faster rolling yet still have an aggressive tread design. It's meant to be a little faster than a Maxxis Minion DHR2 but still offers support in corners and can handle pretty much all kinds of terrain. This tire intrigued us so much we made a first impressions video when it was released. Since then, we have had tons of time on this tire and can say that it works great as a rear tire or even as a front tire on a mid-travel trail bike. Jeff rode this tire upfront when he first built his Revel Rascal and then moved it to the rear when he took a trip to New Zealand for eight days of wet riding and slippery trails. The Maxxis Dissector is a great all-around trail, enduro or DH tire, so make sure to try one out while they are in stock!
When SRAM and RockShox first came out with the new AXS ecosystem including SRAM Eagle AXS in XX1 and X01 and the RockShox Reverb post, I was excited as a mechanic to see this new technology. The thought of not having to route so many dropper post cables through frames was very appealing. The RockShox Reverb AXS post takes the technology gained from years of Reverb posts and adds an electronic element to the mix. We not only have a full overview video on this post but also an installation video to help you install this once purchased! I currently have one on my Mondraker F-Podium bike and you quickly get used to the ease of pushing a small button instead of a lever with a cable throw. It's such a small detail but when you go back you notice it's actually a bit more work to make that lever move versus the Reverb controller button. Another really cool feature is that the electronic communication is so fast that you can make very small adjustments to the dropper post, so if you are on a tech climb and just want the seat out of the way by about an inch, you can easily do that with a simple and quick press of the button. There is also a bleed port on the bottom of the post for extra easy maintenance. Just take the post out, follow the online bleed instructions, and you are good to go, solid as it was from day one.
During this time of year, there are many shops, including ours, that bring in new demo bikes for the season. That also means that older demo bikes are for sale and there is the possibility of grabbing a slightly used bike. All of our Worldwide Cyclery demo bikes and employee bikes are taken care of by our mechanics and are in mint condition. We have a separate buy/sell PinkBike page for our three locations in California, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Currently one of the best deals on there is our Devinci Troy X01 build in Large listed for $4,899. We featured this bike in our $3,000 vs $9,000 mountain bike video, so you might say it's famous. Along with that crazy deal on the Devinci Troy X01 build, we have lots of other bikes on there like Evil Offerings, Yeti SB130’s, SB140’s, SB150’s, SB4.5’s, Revel Rails and Rascals, and more! As mentioned above all of these bikes are slightly used and are taken care of like the amazing high-end bikes that they all are.
While we don't offer many old or discontinued products on our site, we do eventually get a few that need a home and we offer those for a crazy good deal to go along with our amazing customer service, informative videos and our shop culture that we all love. To see some deals, check out our “sale” page that brings you to our MegaDeals collection. When you use the discount code on any product that is in the MegaDeals collection you will receive 15% off that product!!! Check it out.
Ergon is always one of our top selling grips and there are many reasons why that is. One, they make extremely detailed and ergonomically designed grips to help improve the contact points of the body including the hands, which is what causes many riders the most discomfort. Reason two, they come in tons of badass colors like these grips featured here, the Ergon GE1 Evo Factory Grip in black with oil slick lock-on collars to match all your other oil slick bits on your bike. The GE1 was designed for riders that ride the typical “enduro” style of riding, meaning long days on the bike with physical downhills mixed in. From the compound of the rubber to the blocks and grooves in the grip to help fatigue and keeping your hand on the handlebar, to the rubber going to the very edge of the grip for maximum comfort and palm range, it's hard to see many issues with the Ergon GE1 Evo Factory grip. That is just the reason why we see these at the top of the sales sheets every month. Check out our recent video going over all the new and popular Ergon products featuring Luca Cometti and Rachel Strait!
This extremely rare, extremely fashionable, and extremely warm Worldwide Cyclery black hoodie will make all your friends scream in jealousy when they see you wearing this extremely amazing hoodie. It's available in sizes S-2XL to accommodate trendsetters of all sizes, so act fast before it's too late.
The last product in our trending MTB products for the month of March is certainly not least and I hope you are still reading at this point because suspension seals are one of the easiest ways to bring some fresh life back into your bike. However, if you do have a Fox Float X2 or DHX2 you are out of luck, sorry. But if you do have a Fox Float shock and it needs some love this kit will work great for you and there are plenty of videos online to help you through this process of a seal rebuild on your Fox shock. If you haven't had this done to your shock and you have over 50 hours or about 1 year of riding, I highly suggest you get one of these kits.
