We are back with more Trending Mountain Products, this time for the month of February 2021. These are products that have been flying off the shelf the last month as well as a few that we just personally really like. We start with some of our favorite handlebars, the OneUp carbon bars, then dive into a few fork options from Fox and RockShox. Next up, suspension maintenance. That includes grease, rebuild kits, and a new shock pump from Fox. Lastly, the guys show off some fancy new WC swag and of course, the KETL Canyon Bib. Enjoy!
First up we have a carbon handlebar from OneUp Components. Not only is this carbon handlebar very affordable, but it has a unique feature that almost every other carbon handlebar on the market doesn’t have. Built into the carbon layup, the OneUp Components handlebar has vertical compliance with a patent pending design. What they claim as “35.0 diameter, done right”. When handlebars started to move from 31.8 to 35.0 diameter, many riders said the new diameter was too stiff and harsh. OneUp came into “One Up” the industry, and made theirs a bit different. We did a full video comparing the top carbon handlebars on the market and actually were able to feel the benefits from the OneUp version. Available in both 20mm and 35mm rise options and 800mm wide, you can outfit one of these on your bike!
This time of year, we really see an increase in suspension service parts being sold. The mud of winter and the excitement for bike parks to open, it really is a great time to give your bike and suspension some love. We have a huge range of parts to choose from to help freshen up or upgrade your suspension, and below are some that we have been selling a lot of in the past month.
This kit from Fox works on a wide range of shocks. Pretty much any Float DPS, Float X, or Float DPX2 shock within the last decade can be serviced with this rebuild kit. Not only does this kit freshen up your shock, but it's something that is pretty simple to do yourself at home. With all the seals you need and some fox float fluid, all you need is some seal grease like Slick Honey or Rockshox Dynamic Seal Grease and your rear shock will feel as good as new!
Notice how I threw in that RockShox Dynamic Seal Grease under the Fox rebuild kit? Well, I did that to lead into this product. The RockShox Dynamic Seal Grease is great for any fork or shock seals when you are rebuilding the suspension. Apply a generous amount of grease to your seals when doing the rebuild and boom, you will be feeling good!
Once you have rebuilt your fork or shock, grab a fresh shock pump to make sure you are in an accurate zone. Not all shock pumps are 100% accurate, but what I suggest is using the same shock pump on your own bike so you know what 50psi feels like as it could read something else on your buddies shock pump. This shock pump goes up to 300psi so you will be covered no matter what fork/shock/seatpost you have.
Now if you are not looking to rebuild your suspension but rather upgrade, we can help you out with that too! From Fox forks or RockShox and many other brands, we can get you setup with a new fork and make sure it's the right version for your bike. If you have questions, make sure to contact our expert customer service team.
Probably our best selling fork over the last 6 months has been the Fox 36 Factory fork, specifically the 29” wheel 150mm travel version. Not only does this fork fit a ton of bikes, but the new 2021 Fox version has tons of improvements over the previous 2020. The Fox 36 was a bit overshadowed from the fox 38 release, but it does deserve its own spotlight. We have a full video and article going over the full 2021 fox Suspension lineup, so to learn all the details and nerd stuff head over there and get the full scoop!
The RockShox Recon is a bit more popular when it comes to affordability, the $249 price is easier to swallow. We have a full video going over our favorite Forks That Are Under $500 and the Recon Silver RL is one of the top sellers in that range. A perfect upgrade for the average bike out there, with 100mm travel and 9mm axle, it fits a lot of bikes and looks great too. Check out that video and article and contact our customer service team if you need more information on what fits your bike.
Sometimes it gets chilly outside and you need to keep the noggin warm. Our Worldwide Cyclery beanie does just that, and with a small logo, you will be reppin WWC but not yelling. We like that. Wear it folded up or unfolded, your head, your style. At just $19.98 you can look cool, be warm, and rep WWC. I don't see a downside there.
Keeping with the cooler weather theme, we made a Worldwide Cyclery Long Sleeve shirt that helps keep you warm and is made of the softest material in the world (at least we were told that). With a Poly-Cotton (60% Cotton / 40% Polyester ) blend, you stay warm, wick sweat if you get too warm, and could even go out for a quick cruise in this longsleeve, so it’s a multi-purpose long sleeve too! Our low key WC globe logo on the front, our classic Afternoon Delight logo on the back, and a #badlinegoodtimes on the sleeve, we think its perfect for going out, wearing to work, to head out for a quick ride.
How do you go for 2+ hour rides daily and not have a sore tushy? You get a KETL MTN Canyon bib, that's how. With a fancy Italian made chamois, thick grippy leg cuffs, soft, comfortable and breathable fabric and my favorite feature, 3 pockets on the back. You get everything you need, comfort, storage, and more comfort. I might be biased but I genuinely think the KETL bib is the nicest bib with storage I have ever ridden in. Plus the thick leg cuffs help keep your knee pads up if you have those on, so I wear this bib on XC rides all the way to DH shuttle days or all day park laps. Keep you underside happy, grab a KETL Canyon bib today.
Finally, we have a bolt on fender for a RockShox fork, its been a long time coming and this nifty unit here gets you dialed in and helps keep mud, dirt, dog poop, or anything else on the trail from hitting you in the face. Even when you get a new Maxxis tire and all those little rocks start to fly up, this fender helps keep it off your face. For only $23.75 with free shipping in the USA, you can keep debris out of your face and keep that smile clean.
