SRAM G2 RSC Hydraulic Disc Brake Set [Rider Review]

Overview

I recently purchased a set of the SRAM G2 RSC hydraulic disc brakes to replace the ones that came stock on my Yeti SB150.  I had been having trouble with the brakes on the bike not stopping me which put me in danger on more than one occasion. It's a very scary feeling to be flying down a hill at full speed and find that your brakes have decided not to work, again.

I decided on this particular set of brakes because of the fact that they were adjustable. You can adjust the reach as well as the pad contact. I read many reviews prior to purchasing them and these brakes were top-rated and the best out there in my price range. 

I called Worldwide Cyclery with questions prior to purchasing the brakes and the service I received from them was outstanding. The staff was able to answer all my questions and helped me decide which brakes would be best for my type of riding. The sales person who helped me was extremely knowledgeable about bikes and didn't try to sell me what he thought I should have, instead he listened to me and made recommendations based on what I told him I wanted.  He gave me his honest opinion and made sure to sell me the correct parts.  He was very easy to talk to and after just a few minutes I felt as if I had known him all my life.  It was a very enjoyable purchasing experience.  Their price was also the best I could find anywhere.  Their service was prompt and the brakes arrived within just a few days. 

Everything that I needed to install the brake set was included. This brake set was very easy to install and I had the bike back up and running in about an hour and a half. It would have taken much less time than that but I did have to run them through an internal routing frame. Since installing the brakes, I have had the opportunity to take the bike out and ride it on multiple occasions on varied terrain. They work like a dream. 

The modulation on this brake set is extremely smooth.  The braking power is very sharp and crisp.  I have had no more worries about the brakes not working when I needed them.   

Final Thoughts

I would highly recommend this brake set to other mountain bikers who need to upgrade their brakes.  I would also highly recommend calling the staff at Worldwide Cyclery if you have any questions about this product or any other bicycle parts, because as far as I am concerned they are the best out there.  This is not the first time I have purchased from them and it definitely won't be the last.
