Revel spent several years developing their first eMTB, and for good reason. They didn't want to just slap a motor and battery on a bike and call it a day - they were going to make sure it had all the makings of a proper Revel and made sure it rode like one too. So, did they succeed in their quest to make a real deal CBF eMTB? Tune in to find out!
We’ve got a lot of eMTBs coming out right now that are true full-power bruisers: 50+ pounds, massive batteries, big-torque motors, and a ride feel that doesn't quite emulate the feel of a traditional mountain bike. If you’ve been shopping eMTBs lately, it’s easy to get lost in the sauce.
So here’s the question: what kind of ebike do you actually want?
If your answer is “I want a legit enduro bike first, with just enough assist to ride more laps,” then this machine might fit the bill. Meet the Revel ReRun: Revel’s first eMTB, built around the lightweight Bosch Performance Line SX system and their legendary CBF suspension platform.
Travel: 170mm fork / 165mm rear
Motor / Battery: Bosch Performance Line SX (55nm torque, 600w Max Power) / 400Wh Compact PowerTube Battery
Range extender: Compatible with Bosch PowerMore 250Wh
Wheels: MX (29” front / 27.5” rear) on all sizes
Geo (size L highlights): 64° head tube angle, 480mm reach, 442mm chainstays
Claimed weights (size L): 45.2 lb (Eagle 90) / 44.65 lb (X0 Transmission)
The ReRun is built around Bosch’s Performance Line SX motor and a 400Wh battery, and that combo is basically the mission statement of this bike. You’re getting a mid-power assist package designed to feel more like an actual mountain bike.
On trail, the Bosch SX has a natural power delivery that doesn't absurdly amplify your own power inputs. It’s not the kind of motor that lets you fly up climbs in a huge gear while barely paying attention. You’ve got to be a bit more intentional with cadence and shifting which is part of the reason why this bike feels a bit more like a regular mountain bike. If you really put the power down and maintain a higher cadence, you can keep up with those higher power bikes on meandering singletrack, but you'll fall behind on the climbs.
Revel made sure the ReRun is compatible with the Bosch PowerMore 250Wh range extender, which can help calm the battery anxiety demons when you want to head out for longer rides, bringing the total battery capacity to 650wh.
Like we said earlier... Revel didn’t just slap a motor on a frame and call it a day. The ReRun uses their iconic CBF suspension platform and is explicitly designed as a mountain bike first, motor second kind of bike.
The end result is that classic CBF feel: it eats chunk, stays composed when things get steep and technical, and keeps you in a centered position that feels balanced rather than “e-bike heavy.”
There’s absolutely that classic bit of that “CBF magic” going on. The kind you can’t fully explain until you’re a few corners deep and realizing you’re carrying way more speed than you meant to. It holds grip incredibly well on the climbs, while remaining supportive. When you point it downhill, it truly shines and helps this 45lb beast feel more playful than it should in the laws of physics.
Revel keeps it simple with two complete builds (plus a frame kit), and both are built around the same Bosch SX / 400Wh battery, mixed wheels, and 170/165mm travel.

Lapping your favorite trail or getting some help to the top of an epic downhill is where the ReRun really makes sense. It’s not trying to be the e-bike you take on a mega-epic with your friend’s 800Wh, 100Nm rig where you’re racing daylight. This bike is all about the amazing CBF suspension platform.
The ReRun is the bike for:
after work
before work
when you’ve got 60–90 minutes
when you want downhill smiles, not a 40 mile backcountry ride
The motor feel is natural and a little more "intentional." you’re managing gears, picking lines, riding it like a normal mountain bike. Then when it’s time to point it down… the combo of big travel, modern geo, and CBF composure makes this thing an absolute riot on technical trails and an animal in the corners.
The only caveat is if your crew is on full-power rigs with huge batteries, they’ll be able to go longer and faster on big days. And if you’re the rider who equates “best eMTB” with “most power,” you’re probably going to want something else.
But if you don’t care about that stuff and just want a bike that rides like a real enduro sled with an adequate amount of assist to get you up the nastiest climbs, then this could be the bike for you.
The Revel ReRun is what happens when a brand that’s obsessed with suspension kinematics builds an eMTB that still feels like a mountain bike first. You get real enduro travel, modern numbers, a lighter mid-power Bosch SX system, and a ride personality that’s more about shredding laps then huge XC rides.
If your ideal eMTB is the one that helps you squeeze in more rides without any less fun, the ReRun is for you.
