Not every rider used to have access to computers to dial in their suspension until Quarq released their Shockwiz. Now riders of all skill levels can tune their suspension to perfection with just the Shockwiz and an app on your phone. Easy as that. Our buddy Alexis recently made the investment in a Shockwiz. Lets see what they thought.
So I thought my suspension was dialed until I decide to get the Shockwiz.
I was getting frustrated because of the performance of my bike. I knew something was wrong with my suspension; I spent hours looking at videos on YouTube to set it up correctly, based on my riding style, But nothing seems to work. So I decided to give it a try to the Shockwiz to see if this makes any changes.
The setup was straightforward. I started with the fork, I followed the step-by-step guide from the app, and in less than 15min, It was set. So I grabbed my bike and headed to my local trail. With the initial setup, I felt my fork a little bit more progressive, it was feeling good. So I started riding my bike as usual. An hour later, I decided to check the mobile app's progress, and I began to see all the recommendations that the app was giving me. Back home, I started making changes, added tokens, change air pressure, adjusting rebound, etc., got back on the trail for several days, looking at the recommendation and making changes until I got it right where I want it.
"In general, this thing does what it is supposed to do, set up your suspension and I think it worth the money. The only thing that could use some improvement is in the app. It could be frustrating initially; It doesn't give precise feedback, so you have to guess sometimes. For example, it gives you a hint like "if yellow reduces 5% of the air pressure," so you have to use your calculator or guess and reduce 5% of the current air pressure; sometimes it's not right, so you have to start a new session every time you make this change of air pressure. Overall it's worth the buy." - Alexis
