PNW has offered the range stem for quite some time now which matches up perfectly the Kyle Warner Range Handlebar. The Range Stem features something a little different than what you can currently find on the market right now though. You can actually mount a GoPro or any other device that utilizes the same mount directly to your stem. This opens up your options for running things like an EDC Stem Cap or other stem cap mounts for cycling computers. As everyone and their mother is attempting to become an MTB YouTuber these days, the PNW Range Stem just might be what you need to document your rides.
Stems are something I feel people often overlook, and it is something I have overlooked many times but through my years of riding many types of bikes I have found that having a quality made stem is essential to keeping your bike running smooth. The Range Stem comes off as a slightly bulky stem but it is sturdy with a large clamping area to ensure a tighter grip on the bar that helps you avoid any slippage in case you come up short on a jump. The 40mm length fit perfectly for my current bike setup and paired with a set of Range Handlebars, I felt like I had a lot of control over the front end of the bike. I Never experienced any slippage on the bars or even the steerer tube, even after taking a slam.
Having the option to attach a GoPro is really cool too. I rarely ever use my GoPro (like most people who purchased one) but attaching it to the front of the bike allowed me to get rid of that uncomfortable chest strap and also eliminated that bobbing feeling when attaching it to my helmet. The video quality is surprisingly smooth given the camera is attached to a bike that is constantly moving.
“I think PNW is offering something really cool that people should definitely look into when upgrading their stem. Especially those people who like to document their rides via video recorders or those people wanting a nice mount for their night lights or cycling computers. I have always hated how those look mounted to the bars or on stem caps and the front mount makes for a super clean set up” - Reamonn
