When the sun goes down, you don't want to be stuck out on the trail without a night riding light. NiteRider makes a variety of light options but if you are looking for serious power, the Lumina Dual 1800 is for you. Check out what this customer had to say about his new NiteRider light!
I recently purchased the Niterider Lumina Dual 1800 light. I have always been a fan of NiteRider, and this light is no different. In comparison to previous lights, this light can be mounted in the very center of the handlebar if you purchase a K Edge NiteRider adaptor and the Go Big Top Cap, and there are no cables or wires that get in the way. However, the mount that comes with this light is more than sufficient. My personal preference, though, was to go this route to keep the light centered and less cluttered.
Previous lights were a hassle to put on, and often that determined whether I would be riding that evening, not wanting to deal with the ordeal of getting all the cables tucked in. This light also throws a much better light pattern than my old HID night light, making it more fun to ride at night. No more worrying about the big battery packs. It is also a lot cheaper than previous lights, and it is obvious that technology has come a long way.
With the upcoming time change, I plan on doing a lot more night rides, and this light is a must. It gives you the confidence you need, adapting to riding at night.
My friends all have different lights, but I received a lot of positive comments when they saw the brightness and simplicity of this light. Riding at night, especially as I am getting older and lose more of my eyesight, can be a challenge, and a good light is essential. I consider myself an avid mountain biker, and I have ridden at night most of my life. I prefer to ride during the day time, but as the days are getting shorter, it is always nice having the option to continue to ride, and often that will be my only option if I want to keep a level of fitness through this time change.
Night riding is not for everyone, but it definitely opens up a whole new world. Trails you have ridden for years in the day time become altogether new trails in the dark. NiteRider Lights have contributed to riders being able to continue riding. Some even say that they are better riders at night, and I have to agree to a certain extent. Ruts don’t seem to be as intimidating, Climbs seem less steep and long during night rides. However, a good light will make this experience a whole lot better since the trails are illuminated and help you gain confidence.
In summary, I would highly recommend this light for anyone doing night rides that are not epics as the battery life is not as long on the higher modes than the old big battery style. It will surely give you confidence.
