MRP AMG V2 Alloy Bash Guard and Chain Guide: Customer Review (Better Protection for Your Bike)

I purchased the MRP AMG V2 alloy bash guard and chain guide last month. I have never had one on my previous bikes, mainly because they were XC bikes. I built up a new Ibis Ripmo earlier this year and after selling everything I owned and dumping every penny I had into building this bike, I wanted all the protection! A lot of my friends who own enduro bikes recommended MRP and I have no regrets, besides they just make the bike look even more capable of GNAR!

MRP AMG V2 Chainguide and Bashguard Review

The MRP AMG V2 came in a fancy box wrapped in bubble wrap, all the hardware was in a tiny ziplock back and it also came with a sticker (+1). Moving on to installation. Instructions were pretty much common sense, take the bolts, put’em in the holes, etc. etc. SUPER easy install. I had already installed my BB, Chainring, and cranks by this point but I was able to leave those on to install the bash guard by rotating the chainring and just sticking the Allen Wrench through, which was really nice! At the top, there is a chain guide to keep your chain from falling into the frame. The chain does not make contact with it so you get no resistance or chain noise and it is also easily adjustable with the turn of one bolt!

MRP AMG V2 Alloy Bash Guard and Chain Guide Review

I have put this thing to the test and I must say it can take a beating. It definitely makes riding over downed trees a lot easier. It just glides right over anything that is in its way as where your chainring would dig into whatever it is you’re rolling over. I literally have nothing bad to say about this thing. It looks cool, it protects your frame and your drivetrain and you can roll over anything with confidence!
