Forbidden has officially unveiled the Reya, their latest short-travel trail bike that trades the brand's signature high-pivot and idler for a specialized Trifecta kinematic and 120mm of travel. Built to maximize fun and speed across various terrains, this bike is a genre defining machine.
Instead of following the recent trend of flex-stay bikes, Forbidden built the Reya as a proper linkage-driven trail bike from the ground up.
Reimagined Trifecta Kinematic: This new setup focuses on performance through the 120mm of rear travel, prioritizing the right suspension characteristics for trail riding over the rearward axle path found on their longer-travel bikes.
No Idler, No Problem: Forbidden fine-tuned the chain feedback to provide more tension in climbing gears for stability and less in harder gears for an effortless feel on descents.
Anti-Squat & Anti-Rise: Anti-squat sits at 110% at sag in climbing gears to keep the bike active on technical climbs, while a consistent 80% anti-rise ensures a predictable platform when things get steep.
Progressive Leverage Curve: The progressive curve is designed to maximize energy transfer, whether you are pumping through terrain or sprinting.

The Reya utilizes Forbidden's OneRide geometry philosophy, ensuring every rider gets the same intended experience.
Proportional Rear Centers: Unlike most short-travel bikes, the Reya features genuinely proportional rear centers across the entire size range for balanced weight distribution and consistent grip.
Centered Climbing: Larger sizes receive steeper seat tube angles to keep riders in an efficient, centered position for climbing.

Forbidden made several intentional design choices to prioritize performance and durability over industry trends:
No Internal Storage: Forbidden opted against internal frame storage to save weight and maintain frame aesthetics, favoring external accessory mounts and room for a full-size water bottle instead.
Maintenance Minded: The bike uses a full complement of large bearings for durability and features a versatile cable management system that avoids headset routing.

The Reya is launching with three distinct build tiers to suit different performance needs:
