The most popular tire in recent mountain bike history is having a big anniversary year, it's the Maxxis Minion DHF 20th Anniversary! 20 years ago this Maxxis tire touched the dirt for the first time and since it has been on podiums from World Cup Downhill races, Downhill World Championships, Enduro World Series and many more podiums, but best of all it also happens to be an amazing tire for all of us riders on our home trails as well. The Minion DHF might be the most iconic tire tread pattern in mountain bike history and was the brainchild of Colin Bailey, a former Maxxis factory ream rider in the early 2000s. With large, squared cornering blocks, channel-cut center knobs, and wide spacing, the Minion strikes a distinctive profile
The Minion DHF is known for its cornering capability, predictability and rolling speed, it quickly became a favorite of top gravity athletes around the world. It is also a shop favorite around Worldwide Cyclery for both customers and employees, we have a ton of videos covering the Maxxis Minion DHF like; Maxxis Minion DHF Product Overview, Maxxis Minion DHF vs. Schwalbe Magic Mary, Maxxis Tire Guide: Which Maxxis Tire Is Right For You, Maxxis Tires Simplified - The Best MTB Tire Combos For Your Bike, Maxxis Minion DHF vs Minion DHR II, .

The Minion has gotten some slight changes over the years, from compounds and widths as well as tire size. First made in 26”, it has been re-adjusted for 27.5” & 29” sizes as well. The pattern has been scaled to match new sizes and fit the new larger diameters better but still remained mostly unchanged, just scaled properly.
