Big things are happening over at Yeti and we are excited to announce the upcoming changes and additions to the 2017 lineup of Yeti bikes! These changes include the introductions of a new bike, the Yeti SB5+, a fully redesigned SB5 and SB5 Beti, and the introduction of two different carbon frame models available on EVERY 2017 frame. Let’s take a look at the upcoming changes to the 2017 Yeti bike frames line-up.

The biggest change moving forward is that every model will have two different carbon level frame options: The TURQ series and the Carbon series.

TURQ series frames are constructed from the highest quality of carbon fiber available and save anywhere from 250-400 grams when compared to their Carbon Series frames.

Carbon series frames utilize less high modulus carbon which Yeti is able to offer at a more affordable price point than the TURQ series, only sacrificing a little bit of weight and still achieving the award winning quality that Yeti is known for.

Yeti puts their frames through vigorous amounts of testing and there were no exceptions for the 2017 models. Yeti has the luxury to test each model with current EWS World Champion Richie Rude, their own in-house testing team, as well as brand ambassadors around the world. This creates for outstanding feedback in order to create the best product possible. What sets Yeti bike frames apart from most other bike manufacturers is they build bikes that they want to ride. It’s their philosophy and anyone that has ridden a Yeti can tell what sets these bikes apart from the rest.

Both frame options come with multiple build kit options making it even easier to customize your Yeti with the build kit you are looking for.

Another update across the board for the 2017 Yeti lineup is updated graphics. Yeti stays true to their roots with their turquoise and raw carbon/black frames, only adding small accents on the frame to differentiate this line from the 2016’s. One thing is for sure, these bikes are some of the best looking around.

Completely Redesigned SB5 and SB5 Beti Frames

Yeti’s most popular bike just got even better. Yeti went back to the drawing board and crafted up a new design for their SB5 and SB5 Beti and will feature a sleek new frame design, internal cable routing, and boost spacing for 2017. Both bikes are designed around the patented Switch Infinity Technology linkage system and have a much cleaner look this year.

The triangle that split from the top tube into the seat tube is now gone and the bike takes on the clean lines that everyone has come to love on the SB4.5, SB5.5, and SB6. Both frames also feature a lower stand-over height, 724mm compared to 764mm on the previous model (taken from size M frame and 150mm fork) and slightly lower BB height (338mm down from 342mm).

Crafted to tackle just about any trail, you can expect the new SB5 to be quick on climbs thanks to its efficient suspension platform and absolutely dominate descents.

Yeti Is Introducing a Brand New Bike: The Yeti SB5+

Keeping up with the trends is necessary in the bike industry, and with these trends brings the introduction of the Yeti SB5+ - a 27.5 inch plus bike designed around the all new SB5 frame. With this frame being as great as it is, the bigger wheels will lend to its stability and traction and sheer dominance on the trail. If you plan on tackling anything from loose gravel to muddy trails, the Yeti SB5+ will handle anything you put in its path and then some.

Build Kits & Geometry

For 2017, Yeti will have numerous different build options for both the TURQ series frame and Carbon series frame. The TURQ series frames will feature three different build kits: XT, X01 Eagle, and XX1 Eagle and the Carbon series will feature a XT/SLX build as well as an Eagle build. 2017 Yeti SB6

Yeti continues to crush the enduro scene with their SB6. This bike was built to handle some of the roughest terrain on the planet while remaining incredibly efficient. Take it for an all day trek or up to the bike park and odds are you will be having a blast on this bike.

2017 Yeti SB5.5

The SB5.5 is a long travel 29er that was built to handle everything. Trail, all-mountain, or enduro - it doesn't matter what type of riding you are doing because this bike does it all. The aggressive geometry paired with shorty chainstays makes this 29er plenty maneuverable when navigating tighter sections and remains incredibly steady when charging fast, straight, chunky sections.

2017 Yeti SB5+

Brand new for 2017 is the SB5+. With plus bikes gaining more popularity, Yeti designed a plus bike around their most popular frame, the SB5. This frame design paired with the aggressive geometry and larger tires offers gobs of traction that will carry you through rough gravel or loose, muddy trails. 

2017 Yeti SB5

The SB5 is Yeti's most popular bike and with good reason, this bike just about does it all. Its lightweight, efficient at climbing, and a phenomenal descender. This year it got a facelift with a sleek new frame design that features internal routing and boost spacing. This bike could absolutely be your everyday ride and there wouldn't be one thing to complain about.

 2017 Yeti SB4.5

The SB4.5 was the first 29er in the Yeti fleet to feature their patented Switch Infinity platform and immediately was a huge hit. This bike climbs almost too good and is extremely stable when descending. The geometry achieves a perfect balance and never feels too top heavy - simply put, it is the perfect all around trail bike.

2017 Yeti ASR

The Yeti ASR is as fast as they come when it comes to XC bikes. The frame is incredibly light which provides for a super efficient ride. This bike is as happy climbing as it is descending. This 4" travel bike comes with 29" wheels for M, L, and XL frames and 27.5" wheels for XS and S frames.

2017 Yeti SB5 Beti

The SB5 Beti also received updates as it is the exact same frame as the SB5, just with different colors. The Beti was made for women who charge hard and need a trail bike to handle those bigger hits and aggressive sections. 

2017 Yeti ASR Beti

The Yeti ASR Beti is the lightest bike in the entire fleet and features womens specific components and a custom suspension tune. Like the standard ASR, M, L, and XL frames have the larger 29" hoops while the XS and S bikes feature 27.5" hoops. If you are looking for a bike capable of handling extremely technical trails and dominating XC courses, then you have met your match.
