Rider Review

So I'm gonna start by saying I'm a pretty average rider that started mountain biking about 6yrs ago...and ever since loved it. Loved trying new trails all over California and always liked the technical and harder trails. So over the years I've upgraded on bikes but never really got into upgrading components or anything on the bikes. I always thought it wasn't really worth the money or any parts would really make that much of a difference. And the more you get into harder riding or more technical trails you realize how much just one small part can make a huge difference. Obviously it has a lot to do on the style of rider that you are. I'd consider myself a pretty aggressive rider....have had some pretty crazy falls and injuries along the way but that's what riding comes with!!

So my most recent bike purchase was the Transition Patrol Carbon which by the way has been my favorite bike...and I've demoed several other "higher-end" bikes which I won't mention so they don't feel bad..haha And after riding it for a year I finally decided I would do some upgrades and started doing some research on several different parts and components that might help my ride harder and make my bike perform better. So I started off with the front forks which by the way was also a great upgrade. Then my second upgrade was the Fox Float X2. Had watched some videos and different reviews on it so I had somewhat of an idea of what I was expecting. The only thing I was really worried about was losing some climbing ability as I had heard from some that what I had stock on my bike was a better climbing shock...the Fox DPX2. So this was the debate I was having because, in the SoCal mountains, we gotta earn our downhills which also requires a lot of climbing most of the time. So I said.... let's give it a try.!!!

So I was like a little kid waiting to go to Disneyland the next day. Checking emails and tracking the part to get in. Finally got it and immediately got it installed and tuned to my weight specs...and I have to say it was a bit trickier than I thought to adjust. So I ended up taking it to my local bike shop and had them dial it in for me. And the wait got even crazier...i just wanted to get this thing to the mountain and give it the real test.

Conclusion

"Finally, the day came and I went to my favorite local riding spot. Started our usual 2-mile climb and I never noticed it being harder to climb as they had told. In fact, I felt it just the same if not better!! So I was already happy on the climbing part. Obviously my main reason was the downhill part. So I picked the hardest trails here..which includes some jumps, drops, and very fast zig-zag corners. This was the ultimate test for this shock. And boy was I amazed..!!! Seems as the harder or faster I go the better it performed!!! This Fox Float X2 is everything and more than expected. I give it a 10/10

And last but not least my favorite mountain bike supplier. WORLDWIDE CYCLERY. They have been my go-to guys when it comes to bike parts....they have always led me in the right direction as far as parts and upgrades. They always ask my style of riding and what they think would be best for me and my partner(my bike) ;)"
