Dropper posts are one of the best MTB innovations of all time, and e*thirteen continues to innovate with their Vario Infinite Adjust Dropper Post. Many riders are in between dropper post sizes, so having travel adjustability is a great feature. Our friend Kali recently installed one and digs it. Check it out!
It Drops, It Pops, and It Locks. Not the long travel length everyone is looking for these days but my wife of 19 yrs says length isn't everything...
Ordered new dropper due to the need to replace existing shotty Bontrager OE dropper. The need for a functioning dropper became number one on the "next must-have bike part purchase" list since rebuilding the Drop Line every week was putting a damper on ride time. Picked the e*thirteen due to poor insertion depth on my 2018 Trek Fuel Ex. The e*thirteen also has shim-ability to adjust travel length if I didn't do my math quite right. Decided to stay with the existing dropper lever (though that will be a next year purchase).
My new e*thirteen Vario Infinite Dropper Seatpost arrived with expert packaging via the always appreciated WWC free shipping. Overall construction and appearance make me feel like I didn't underpay or overpay for the product. Since I weigh 215 pounds weight is not a concern and the dropper felt just about the same weight as a Renaissance Fair turkey drumstick. You big guys know what I'm talking about...
Included install documentation and QR code made the install go on without a hitch except I only had one shifter cable left in my stash with only about an inch to spare. Do be wise to take care with the shifter cable barrel in the bottom of the dropper as it doesn't really lock in that well but this could also have been operator error.
I've ridden on the new e*thirteen Vario Infinite Dropper Seatpost for 3 - 4 weeks. It performs just like I described the dropper's appearance "not cheap feeling or super-duper deluxe either".
It just works and this is night and day from prior equipment functionality.
It Drops = The seat Drops with ease compared to the previous post that took all 215 pounds of manliness.
It Pops = The seat Pops up with no restrictions and does not have any violence aimed at the old frank - n - beans.
It Locks = The seat Locks into place with very minimal play. No more 11 to 1 o'clock seat nose wiggle between my thighs.
I will be a better judge after it makes its way through an unpredictable Midwestern fall (almost over), winter, and spring. I promise to do a better job with maintenance from the get-go. Hopefully, a mixture of my increased maintenance and better overall build quality than the previous dropper will lead to a long enough life until its new bike time (Revel Rascal - finger crossed).
The e*thirteen Vario Infinite Adjust dropper does exactly as advertised. It works great, its as adjustable as one would need, and the price is right. Time will tell as far as durability goes, but from my experience so far I would recommend it to others.
