Riding trail bikes with coil springs is not just a fad. With the performance offered by the latest suspension from Fox, the additional traction and confidence riding on a coil shock might outweigh the additional weight. Every rider is different and wants their bike to perform in different ways. For our customer Michael Catanzaro, he decided to go with the Fox DHX2 coil shock with the 2-position switch and SLS (Super Light Steel) spring for his Santa Cruz Bronson. Check out his review!
Coil springs aren’t just for downhill bikes anymore. I have a 2016 Santa Cruz Bronson and always figured that putting a coil on my Trail/Enduro bike would be trying to make it something it’s not. I recently purchased a 2018 Fox DHX2 rear shock from Worldwide Cyclery and absolutely love it. The customer service and shipping from Worldwide Cyclery was top notch; helpful and efficient.
Before purchasing the DHX2, I was running the Fox Float X2, a great air shock. I was always skeptical about putting a coil shock on my 2016 Santa Cruz Bronson, but after following friends with coil shocks and watching their rear tire stick to the ground while I bounced around, I had to give the coil a try. All I could say was WOW! I immediately noticed a massive difference. The Fox DHX2 eats up everything! It’s not as lively or progressive feeling as the Fox X2, but the DHX2 coil, at any speed, smooths out the trail. The Fox DHX2 climbs great as well. I really only use the climb switch on pavement.
Overall, the Fox DHX2 is a fantastic coil over for any type of riding. And of course, always use Worldwide Cyclery for their good customer service and quick shipping.
