SRAM T-Type Transmission AXS

T-Type is SRAM's biggest leap forward in drivetrain design since Eagle. The derailleur mounts directly to the frame with no hanger -- which means it's more robust, more precise, and shifts under load better than any traditional setup. Combined with wireless AXS shifting, it's the most capable mountain bike drivetrain SRAM has ever made. If you're building a new bike or doing a full drivetrain upgrade and budget isn't the limiting factor, T-Type is where the technology is right now.

How T-Type Is Different

The key difference from standard Eagle AXS is the UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) integrated mount. The derailleur clips directly to the frame, eliminating the hanger entirely. That means no bent hangers, no alignment issues, and a derailleur that can take a hit and keep working. It also enables shifting under load -- something traditional derailleurs struggle with. We did a long-term employee review of the SRAM T-Type XX drivetrain covering real-world performance after extended use -- worth reading before you buy.

T-Type Lineup

  • XX T-Type: The flagship. Lightest weight, carbon fiber components, top-tier AXS wireless performance. For riders who want the absolute best.
  • X0 T-Type: Nearly identical performance to XX at a more reasonable price. The sweet spot in the T-Type lineup for most serious riders.
  • GX T-Type: The most accessible entry into the Transmission system. Same UDH mount and under-load shifting, more affordable price point.

Also worth checking out: the SRAM 90 drivetrain -- their new mechanical option that brings a lot of the T-Type DNA to a cable-actuated system. And if you're comparing T-Type to Shimano Di2, we covered that debate in depth here.
