SRAM revolutionized the drivetrain market when they introduced SRAM Eagle in the XX1 and X01 models. Cost was a barrier to entry for some folk who couldn't justify the cost of the first iteration and that is why the SRAM GX Eagle groupset is the perfect 12 speed MTB drivetrain. It combines the 12 speed technology and durability known from SRAM at a fraction of the cost. SRAM sells the GX Eagle groupset as a full kit or you can buy the cassette, rear derailleur, chain, shifter, and crankset separately if you don't need the full SRAM groupset. What's great about the GX Eagle groupset vs the higher end X01 and XX1 models is that shifting quality is extremely similar with some people not being able to tell a difference between the GX drivetrain and the more expensive options.
