Reserve carbon rims offer the perfect balance of width and wheel size. The rim beads on the Reserve rims are thick, the material saved by optimizing the placement of the spoke hole reinforcements went directly into the bead, making it extremely strong without adding weight to the overall construction. The beads are hookless: this makes for a better fit with modern tires, but also simplifies manufacturing, which results in more consistent carbon compaction the technical way to say stronger rim. 30 XC SL Wheels deliver climbing efficiency and descending performance for the needs of today's World Cup XC racing and modern XC bikes. With steeper and more technical courses, the world's best riders need more control and strength, without compromising on weight. 30 XC SL delivers on both. Includes XD and Micro Spline freehub bodies 30 XC SL wheels features carbon spokes and 30g of weight savings per rim, compared to the 30 XC model A special carbon layup and greater use of high modulus fiber make the SL rims lighter and with identical strength characteristics and ride quality Vonoa carbon spokes are 30% lighter than traditional steel spokes and deliver a stiff, responsive ride. Team riders say the carbon spokes feel very planted, and the stiffer spokes reduce spoke wind up, which makes it feel like they can accelerate faster Paired with DT Swiss 180 hubs; the benchmark for lightweight, high-performance hubs, with worldwide support for driver bodies and small parts Modern XC race bikes have wider tires, more travel and geometry that allows riders to push harder than ever before. The 30mm internal width accommodates wider tires (2.35-2.5), for better support in corners and more traction in technical sections Increased spoke count to 28.
